An In-depth Look at the Seasons
  • In most places on Earth, each season of the year,
fall, winter, spring, and summer, is
    characterized by unique weather conditions.
  • The seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth's
axis. As the earth orbits the sun, the earth's
axis approximately points in the same direction.
  • This causes each hemisphere to be tilted toward
the sun during half of the earth's orbit and away
from the sun during the other half.

6
The Seasons
  • There are four seasons in a year.
  • They are
  • They occur at the same time each year.
  • Let's have some fun as we explore some sights and
    sounds of the four seasons.

Now that weve seen and heard what the seasons
are like, lets go more in-depth into each one!
9
In the fall, we start school. The leaves are
changing colors from green to yellow and orange.
The weather is also starting to cool down. This
is the time where we go to pumpkin patches and
then make jack-o-lanterns for Halloween!
10
In the winter, all the leaves have finally fallen
off the trees. It gets very cold, and sometimes
snows! During our winter break people celebrate
different holidays like Christmas, Hanukah,
Ramadan, and Kwanzaa. This is the prefect time
to have hot cocoa and make snowmen!
11
In the spring, flowers bloom and baby animals are
born. The weather is getting warmer which makes
the snow melt. It is the perfect time to fly a
kite, but watch out for those April showers!
12
In the summer, the weather gets very hot. School
is almost out, so start planning your vacation to
the beach! This is the perfect time to go
swimming, build sandcastles and eat LOTS of ice
cream!
