The New Address Quality Tool
- Attempted Not Known and Forwarding Order Expired
accounts for 30 of the reasons why mail is
Undeliverable As Addressed (UAA) after
eliminating forwarding volumes. - It costs USPS .58 cents to return to sender and
.04 cents to dispose of UAA mailpieces. - USPS cost to handle ANK/FOE mailpieces
- 300 million per year!
4ANKLink
The New Address Quality Tool
- Estimated cost to mailers for ANK/FOE mail based
on postage costs alone - 120 million per year!
5ANKLink
The New Address Quality Tool
- USPS goal is to reduce UAA volume by 50 by 2010
- New tools and strategies are required to drive
UAA out of the mailstream! - ANKLink gives service providers and mailers
another tool to make intelligent choices when
making decisions to mail to an address.
6ANKLink
The New Address Quality Tool
- ANKLink is an enhancement to the existing
18-month version of the NCOALink product. - The ANKLink enhancement gives NCOALink licensees
the ability to provide mailers with feedback that
there is a probable move for the name and
address submitted beyond the 18-month
change-of-address database. - Matches in months 19 through 48 will not reveal a
new address, but provide an ANKLink return code
(77) along with a standard NCOALink code. ANKLink
may only be used in conjunction with standard
NCOALink processing.
7In ANKLink enhanced NCOALink processing an input
name and address in which the COA was filed
between 1 and 18 months ago that makes a match
will return either a new address and/or any
appropriate return code. If matching to a COA
filed 19 through 48 months ago an ANKLink 77 code
is returned along with the appropriate NCOALink
return code.
