What is Adequate Yearly Progress?
  • AYP are benchmarks for accomplishment required by
    NCLB

CMT Results as they relate to AYP
  • 2006 Marks the Fourth Generation CMT
  • Students are now tested in all grades 3-8, versus
    just grades 4,6, and 8.
  • As a result 2006 serves as the first year we will
    be able to track cohorts to compare student
    learning growth over time.
  • Results are summative and provide us with
    information of students cumulative learning.

  • Proficient and above levels increased in Reading,
    Writing and Math with the most significant gains
    in Writing (11)
  • Our average holistic score in grade 4 reached an
    8 which is goal.
  • Females perform higher than males in reading and
    writing.
  • There is a an average of an 11 point DRP
    difference for those students in subgroups to
    those who are not and a 10 score difference in
    all subjects

  • Overall proficiency increased 2-4
  • 6th and 8th reading scores are stagnant
  • The average holistic writing score remains a 7.
  • Our white students are scoring 50 higher than
    our minority students.
  • Our non-economically disadvantaged students are
    scoring 50-75 higher than our economically
    disadvantaged.
  • Only 10 of our special education students meet
    proficiency or higher.
  • The higher level thinking math strands continue
    to be a challenge.

    scoring an average of 32 higher than our
    economically disadvantaged students.
  • Our white students are scoring an average of 35
    higher than our minority students.
  • Our non-special education students are scoring an
    average of 33 higher than our special needs
    students.
  • Females are scoring higher than males
  • We have comparable proficiency in writing and
    science to last year
