Who is Covered by OSHA?
  • CFR 29 1754.4 Coverage
  • Any employer employing one or more employees
    would be an employer engaged in a business
    affecting commerce who has employees and,
    therefore, he is covered by the Act as such.

Employer Responsibilities
  • Provide a workplace free from serious recognized
    hazards and comply with standards, rules and
    regulations issued under the OSHA Act.
  • Examine workplace conditions to make sure they
    conform to applicable OSHA standards.

Employer Responsibilities (cont.)
  • Make sure employees have and use safe tools and
    equipment and properly maintain the equipment.
  • Provide medical evaluations and training as
    required by OSHA.

  • Post, at a prominent location within the
    workplace, the OSHA poster
  • Provide up to date operating procedures and
    communicate to them so that employees follow
    safety and health requirements.
