Who will help us succeed?
5
How to achieve success?
6
What is coaching all about?
7
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati
  • The world stands in no need of any reformer. The
world has a very competent person for guiding
it's minutest happenings. The person who finds
that there is scope for reform of the world,
himself stands in need of reform.

8
  • The world goes on it's own perfect way. No person
can deflect it but the breadth of a hair from the
course chalked out for it by providence.

9
  • When we perceive any change being actually
affected in the course of events of this world by
the agency of any particular individual, we also
know very well that the agent possesses no real
    power at any stage.

10
  • The agent finds himself driven forward by a force
belonging to a different category from himself.
The course of the world does not require to be
changed by the activity of any person. What is
necessary is to change our outlook to this very
    world.

11
  • This was done for the contemporary generation by
the mercy of Sri Caitanya. It could be only known
to recipients of His mercy. The scriptures
declare that it is only necessary to listen with
an open mind to the name of Krishna from the lips
    of a bona fide devotee.

12
  • As soon as Krishna enters the listening ear, He
clears up the vision of the listener so that he
no longer has any ambition of ever acting the
part of a reformer of any other person, because
he finds that nobody is left without the very
    highest guidance.

13
  • It is therefore his own reform, by the grace of
God, whose supreme necessity and nature he is
increasingly able to realize, by the eternally
continuing mercy of the Supreme Lord.

Coach As Servant
  • Did you ever have a teacher, a leader, a friend,
a coach, or an adviser who believed in you when
you didn't believe in yourself? One who stayed
with you regardless? Not someone who was soft and
permissive with you, someone who gave in to you,
but someone who would neither give in to you nor
    give up on you.

61
Coach As Servant
  • A coach sees you in terms of your potential, not
in terms of your present behaviour or performance.

62
Coach As Servant

by assisting you to clarify what you want, find

  • Near-Great from the Great

67
Everyone likes attention
  • A British acquaintance told me about an aging
executive who could always be seen at London
restaurants dining with the most beautiful women
in the world. It wasnt his looks or animal
magnetism. He was short, jowly, overweight, bald
and well into his seventies, but when my
acquaintance asked one woman why she was so
enthralled with this man, she answered, He never
takes his eyes off me. Even if the Queen walked
in, he wouldnt be distracted. He would still be
devoting his full attention to me. Thats hard to
    resist.

68
Listening
  • Before the session, clear your mind of all
personal issues so that you can be fully focused
on the devotees needs and fully understand him
  • Through your understanding enable him to
    understand himself

69
Listening
  • Listen ¾ of the session time, talk maximum ¼ of
    the time
  • Listen attentively seek first to understand
  • Encourage the devotee to express himself more
  • You may interrupt if the conversation is leading
    astray

70
Exercise
  • Listen to the devotee next to you for 3 minutes.
  • You must not make any sound, say anything, nod,
shake your head or show any other signs.
  • Repeat back your understanding of the key points
he made. Ask a devotee whether you understood him
    well.

71
Questioning
72
  • To help the devotee succeed, you first need to
help him feel comfortable sharing information
openly and honestly with you (guhyam akhyati
    prcchati)
  • The questions you ask and how you ask them
determine his level of comfort and trust in you
and his willingness to share valuable information

  • The Question That Saved Lechs Life

our results in any area of life reflect the
questions we asked to get us there.
  • The Choice Map is a powerful tool for personal
and professional discovery, action, and results.
