Logging in to Capital IQ in the MIL
  • Instead of using your university NetID and Active
    Directory Password enter the following
    information to sign into the computer
  • Username capiqPassword Passw0rd Domain
    BUSBIFMIL-xx (xx will be the specific number of
    the workstation you use)
  • Then click on the Capital IQ Home shortcut icon
    on the desktop. After the browser window opens,
    click on the Login link on the top left corner
    of the page, and you will automatically be logged
    in.

and select your company from the matching
results. This will take you to the next screen
the company tearsheet.

You can click on any item in the left blue shaded
column to retrieve more detailed information

1) Select Competitors
If the list of peer companies is too large,
narrow down the search by selecting Named by
Company as source type (as was done in this
example), and by un-checking the box next to
Include competitors for current subsidiaries,
and by checking the box next to Recently
disclosed competitors only. If the list is too
short (say only 1 or 2 peer companies) and you
want to see more results, select all 3 available
source types (Competitor, Third Party, and
Company), include subsidiaries by checking the
box next to Include competitors for current
subsidiaries.
2) Choose Source Types, and then click on Go

desired ratio to check how it was calculated by
Capital IQ.
Ratio was Not Measured (NM) by CIQ.

Hover with mouse over Screening Analytics
tab and select Screening and Fixed Income,
and this screen will appear
Fixed Income Screening Criteria

Choose desired Fixed Income criteria to narrow
down the list of bonds (e.g., Security
Valuation ? Coupon Rate between 8 and 9)
After selecting the desired data points and
values hit the Add Criteria button
Finally, click on View Results

SEC Filings
First, make sure you are on your companys
tearsheet. If you cannot see your companys name
here, re-enter the name in the search field and
click on the magnifying glass
Select SEC Filings, and this screen will appear

Either search by Form Group (e.g.,
Registration and Prospectuses), and then click
on the gt button
Or choose the form directly if you know the form
type (e.g., 10K , S-4, 424B3, etc.)
