• We all care about amount of time.
• How long do things take?
• Time is especially important when we are going on
  a trip

Time for Trip

• To find the time it should take for a trip,
  divide the distance by the speed.

Example

• Bellal plans a 418 mile trip to Miami Beach.
• Because he and his friends will travel on I95 for
  most of the trip, he hopes to average 50 mph.
• How long should he expect the trip to take?

• Divide the distance by the average speed.

418 Miles / 50 MPH 8.36 Hours

• Convert the decimal part of the quotient to
  minutes by multiplying it by 60.

.36 Hours 60 Minutes per hour 21.60

• Write the hours and minutes.
