Northmont NJROTC Navy JROTC Nationals

• A guide to the transportation, activities, and
  schedule for the Nationals trip to Pensacola,
  Florida

Preparation

• For the trip the student must follow the
  guidelines for packing as outlined in the blue
  packet (will send home next week).
  
• A DMV or military dependent picture ID is an
  imperative necessity for travel.
  
• Spending money will be needed for 8 additional
  meals and for souvenirs.

Additional Preparation

• The students will need a backpack with
  non-perishable food and entertainment for a 12
  hour drive each way (remember, we will eat lunch
  and dinner along the way).
• Uniform w/ all devices attached must be in
  garment bag ready for inspection.
  
• Box must have all items inside ready for
  inspection. Shoes should be stored inside a sock
  to prevent polish from getting on uniform items.
  
• Both garment bag w/uniform and box will be
  inspected at school on Tuesday, April 14th.

Medications

• Any cadets who need to take prescription or
  over-the-counter medications must bring all of
  their medications in a single Ziploc bag.
  
• Please be sure to label all medications and to
  include written directions for dosage of each
  medication.
  
• Medications will be dispensed by a chaperone.

April 15thThe Day of Departure

• Students will need to bring their backpack and
  luggage at 430 AM on Wednesday April 15th in
  order for it to be inspected.
  
• We will depart from Northmont High School on the
  15th at 600 AM via charter bus

Transportation to Pensacola, FL

• We will depart from Northmont H.S. at 600 AM on
  a 52-passenger charter bus.

Arrival in Pensacola

• We will arrive in Pensacola _at_ 1000 1100 PM,
  April 15th
  
• We will be staying at the Comfort Inn
• in Pensacola Beach. PH [phone]

April 16th

• This day will be used for Nationals preps and
  practice.
  
• Across from the hotel is a huge parking lot where
  we will practice all drill and color guard
  activities.
  
• The athletics team will do only stretches and
  work on baton passes. Academics will do review
  at a set time in the evening.
  
• Lunch will be local (within walking distance of
  the hotel), and for dinner we will use the bus.

April 17th

• We will wake early for NAS Pensacola to conduct
  competitions in Inspection and Color Guard and to
  meet for the group photo.
  
• The afternoon will be the athletic competitions.
• The evening will be the academic competition.
• All meals except breakfast (which will be
  available at the hotel) will be at the chow hall
  on base (included in fees).

April 18th

• We will wake early and depart hotel for NAS
  Pensacola to conduct competitions in IDR and
  Exhibition.
  
• All activity times will be posted after 10
  April.
  
• We will eat all meals at chow hall. After dinner
  we will meet at the Naval Air Museum to tour the
  exhibits and get ready for the awards ceremony
  (also held at the museum.)
• Awards Ceremony is at 700 PM. All 40 of the
  competing cadets must be in their assigned seat
  by 645 PM. Parents and other cadets will
  sit/stand in the rear of the auditorium (The
  earlier you arrive, the better your chance for a
  seat.)

April 19th Day of Departure

• This will be a day of rest and relaxation. The
  hotel has a pool, and the beach is right across
  the street.
  
• We will check out and pack the bus no later than
  100 PM.
  
• We will arrive at the high school at about 600
  AM on Monday, April 20.
