Fall on the Farm
  • 2nd Grade Trip to Stone BarnsOctober, 2009 -
    Pocantico Hills School

2
  • Our Second Graders are participating in the
program Making the Stone Barns Connection again
this year. During the course of the year, we will
have an opportunity to do an in-depth study of
sustainable farming from season to season at
Stone Barns. We will visit the farm to
participate in sensory tours, group discussions,
chores (egg collecting and harvesting greens from
    the greenhouse), hands-on activities (making
sheeps wool felt balls) and an interview with
Mr. Haney, the livestock farmer. Each student
will keep a farm journal to record observations,
information and sketches during our visits in
    October, March and May.
