Dingoes

General Statement
  • Dingoes are mammals and they are Australias
    native dogs.
  • They are territorial.

Appearance
  • Dingoes have coats of short yellow- brown hair
    there are cream coloured dingoes as well as
    black and tan.
  • A dingo has a bushy tail and pointed ears.
  • Dingoes are 50 centimetres tall and about 120
    centimetres long.

Habitat
  • Dingoes live in sandy deserts and all kinds of
    forest.
  • Females have their pups in dens.
  • Dens could be a cave or a wombat burrow.

Diet
  • Dingos eat almost anything. They hunt reptiles
    and mammals and will eat insects. They also eat
    dead animals and some plants. Dingos hunt and
    eat other animals. When Europeans arrived in
    Australia the dingos hunted and killed the sheep
    and rabbits.

Life cycle and stages of Growth
  • The Female has about 4 or 5 pups.
  • The pups drink milk from their mothers nipples.
