2This is me in the photography building. I am a
photography minor, so I spend anywhere from an
hour to nine hours in the lab every week with
assignments. Usually, by the end of it, I end up
looking as crazy as I do in the picture! Its fun
but hard work, even if half the equipment is
broken.
3I know it may not seem like the best place for
studying, but this desk in the photo building is
excellent for a quick study session. If Im not
studying there, I study in one of the comfy
chairs at the Honors building. Either place is
good for quiet study, which is a must for me.
4The library seems like the ideal place to study.
I dislike it because there tends to be more noise
than I like. People answer their cell phones, and
the noise carries upward from the entrance. If
Im not in a private study room, the library is
my least favorite place to study.
5During spring and winter, I hang out with my
friends at the photo building. I seriously spend
so much time there. Plus, because Im there so
much I make friends with the other students who
spend their lives there as well. The girl in the
picture is one friend I take photography classes
with. Above is the darkroom with the safe lights
on. To the right is the print finishing room
where we sit, eat, and just hang out.
6A great place to have a conversation is either on
your cell phone walking to class or in one of the
library study rooms. Coincidentally, this is also
where I like to work on group projects.
7I can honestly say that my least favorite place
on campus is stairs. I spend so much time
climbing stairs, wondering if Im going to make
it to the top. Why not take the elevator? Because
I know its good exercise to take the stairs. So
in between walking across campus, I get mini
workouts on stairs. This set happens to be
located in Peck Hall. My anthropology classes are
located on the third floor in this building, so I
get to climb all forty-seven stairs four days a
week. When the alarm goes off, I get to take them
twice ninety-four stairs! Thats a workout.
8The place on campus with the most energy is the
area between the KUC and the science building.
Between classes, there are huge crowds of people
walking to their next classes or standing around
chatting with friends. During special weeks like
Homecoming, booths and activities are set up.
9I carry my backpack, purse, and water bottle with
me throughout the day. The place I leave them on
campus is on my back unless I want them stolen.
10The most comfortable piece of furniture I use on
campus is the chairs in the Honors building
hallways or the similar ones in the library.
Theyre comfortable because theyre squishy and
oversized.
11My favorite classroom is room 318 in Peck Hall.
Its also known as the anthropology classroom
because most of the anthropology classes are
located in this room. Im sitting on the front
row in this picture. Its my favorite because I
take classes here four days a week!
12My living room is located in my parents house
across town from campus (my parents are the
people in the picture). Im living at home for
college because by doing so, I attend school for
free. I like this room because its my living
room, and I dislike it because sometimes its too
loud for me when Im working on the computer.
13I work on projects involving the computer on this
machine located in my living room. Its okay
using the computer here unless it gets too loud
when people visit. The biggest problem is the
computer it needs serious work.
14I would like to work on projects involving the
computer in the computer room at our house.
Unfortunately, this computer doesnt have the
internet, and I usually need the internet for my
projects. I would like to work on this computer
because its much newer and much more reliable.
15Im most likely to talk to my professors on the
computer through e-mail. If I have a specific
question, Ill ask after a class. Most of the
time, I dont make special appointments unless
the professor requires them.
16Most of the time I dont schedule huge chunks of
time between classes. If I arrive early to
anthropology classes, I sit on this bench located
just outside the classroom. Other classes in Peck
Hall have the same benches to sit on while
waiting. Or I go to the photo lab and wait for
class to start in the photo finishing room, or I
sit on the desk in the earlier picture.
17I like the Honors building most because its new,
small (compared to other buildings), and quiet. I
like that this building has comfy chairs, clean
restrooms, and a room where coffee and tea are
provided free of charge to students. Plus, if I
want to study, its always quiet because other
students respect that Im studying.
18I like Peck Hall least on campus. Also known as
The Labyrinth, this huge, square building has
to have maps guiding students to the correct
classroom. There are four entrances color coded
with blue, red, green, and yellow to help you
remember where you usually enter and exit. The
architect of this building has/ had a sick mind.
19Phillips Bookstore located in the basement area
of the KUC student center is one of my favorite
places on campus. Its kind of a love/hate
relationship because the store has so many neat
supplies, but I spend so much money on books and
photo supplies, it makes me wince every time I go
in.
20Here, Im waiting for the water to boil in the
tea kettle located in the Honors building kitchen
area. Free to students, I can make coffee, tea,
hot chocolate, and sometimes apple cider. This is
another favorite place for me on campus.
21Another favorite place on campus is the Hinton
Music Hall. I played in the band and orchestra
from elementary school throughout high school but
opted out for college because I didnt want to
make a career of it. However, I love going to
concerts, and most of them are free and open to
the public.
22I dislike classes in the KOM because once again,
it has a lot of stairs. Plus, I am always either
cold during winter or hot during fall and late
spring because the temperature is unstable in the
building. I understand that its large and hard
to heat and cool, but I still dont like it.
23I should probably enjoy the place with the most
energy on campus, but I dont. When Im trying to
get to class on time, the crowds standing around
blocking the flow of traffic are rather
irritating. Thus, I dislike the area between the
KUC and the science building.
