What is a Cowboy?

• A cowboy are people that herd cattle owner's
  stock
• The cowboy also was a gunfighter. When they
  werent herding cattle they usually spent their
  time in saloons and gunfighting.

Facts About Cowboys

• The birth place of the Cowboy was in Brasada,
  Texas.
• 1/3 of all cowboys were either Hispanic or
  African American.
• The Civil War started the whole Cowboy Era.
• The Union hired them to watch their live stock

What about Cowgirls?

• Yes Sireee! There sure were Cowgirls! They were
  tough rootin tootin gals.
• Many did so in the west when their husbands were
  killed as a way of earning a living.
• There were also many famous cowgirls.
• Can you name some?
