CCA Marks / CCA Grade
  • To encourage pupil participation and recognise
    effort and contribution, pupils are awarded CCA
    marks for their CCA at the end of the 4 year
    secondary school course.
  • Participation in CCA must be continuous
    throughout the 4 year secondary school course
    before CCA marks scored can be considered for the
    award of a CCA grade.

ENRICHMENT
  • Character Development Programme
  • 2 Modules from each of the 3 domains 2 Sports
    Modules
  • Covered under the Schools Character Development
    Program

Enrichment
  • Enrichment points are awarded for the completion
    of CDP modules within the 4 years.
  • Maximum of 4 points for 6 CDP modules with 2
    modules from each of the 3 domains 2 sports
    modules.

  • REPRESENTATION
  • Inter-school competitions (Sports UGs)
  • SYF Central Judging
  • Local and International Competitions, Exhibitions
  • ATTAINMENT
  • Non-competitive awards e.g. National Youth
    Achievement Award, Best Unit Cadet Award by UG HQ
  • ACCOMPLISHMENT
  • Win awards at Inter-school, National, Regional
    and International competitions

PARTICIPATION
  • Students must participate regularly in at least 1
    CCA in school before recognition can be given to
    their activities organised by approved external
    organisations out of school
  • Attendance rate for main CCA must be of at least
    75 per year in order for the CCA points to be
    computed.

PARTICIPATION
  • If attendance lt 75, all CCA points for L, A P
    that year will be annulled
  • If attendance lt 50, all CCA points for L, A P
    accumulated up to and including that year will be
    annulled

PARTICIPATION
  • Students may participate in more than 1 CCA in
    school. Points are awarded for 2nd CCA only at
    school representation level or higher.

SERVICE
  • Students involvement in Community Service
  • Total number of hours spent over the 4 secondary
    school years
  • Includes the minimum of 6 hours per year under
    Community Involvement Programmes (CIP)
  • Maximum of 30 hours per activity per year

Pupils participation in activities organised by
external organisations
  • Primary objective for awarding CCA points for
    pupils participation in activities organised by
    external organisations is to recognise pupils
    contribution to the community.

  • Therefore, points will not be awarded in the
    following instances
  • When participation is solely for social
    interaction.
  • When participation is based merely on attendance
    or
  • Participation is for personal self-enrichment eg.
    piano lessons, judo, etc.

  • CCA points can only be awarded under the
    Achievement category in activities organised by
    approved external organisations.
  • Pupils must participate in at least one CCA in
    school before recognition can be given to their
    activities outside school.

COMPUTATION OF POINTS
  • CCA Participation should be sustained throughout
    the 4 school years
  • At the end of the 4 years, only the highest
    points in each activity will be considered
  • The points for the number of activities permitted
    for each category, will be totaled

Maximum points for each category are shown below

ADMISSION TO TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
  • Students who obtained an A1/A2 grade at the end
    of Sec 4 will be given 2 bonus points while those
    who obtain B3/B4 or C5/C6 grade will be given
    1 bonus point
  • Students who meet the requirements for admission
    to polytechnics can also use CCA bonus points for
    competing for places in the polytechnics
