ACSM Working Group
  • Launched in February 2005 as the 7th Stop TB
    Working Group
  • Goal to provide strategic guidance and technical
    support in the areas of advocacy, communication
    and social mobilization at all levels (global,
    regional and country level)
  • 2 sub groups
  • Global advocacy
  • ACSM at country level

ACSM Strategic Priorities
  • Mobilizing resources for RD, Tx, TA (GP2)
  • Translating GP2 needs into specific advocacy
    targets, tools, and activities
  • Ensuring TB is included in key policy agendas
  • Strengthening ACSM capacity within NTPs and other
    country-level partners
  • Expanding civil society advocacy capacity
  • Supporting expanded role of affected communities
    in TB treatment access and advocacy
  • Providing proven practices and tools
  • Acting as a conduit for effective TA

    for ACSM
  • Overall 41 of approved round 5 TB proposals
    contained robust ACSM elements
