• Early 1990s PFCs identified as long lived, high
  GWP gases
• 1996 U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association
  (SIA) signs PFC MOU with U.S. EPA
• First industry to voluntarily limit GW emissions
• Endeavor to reduce normalized PFC emissions
  from 95 levels
• 1998 World Semiconductor Council agreement
  signed among SIA sister organizations in Europe
  Asia
• Reduce PFCs to 10 below 1995 levels by 2010
• WSC working group currently discussing post 2010
  plans
