- Average target of 65 and above achieved by 53
students Note some children request to attend
for 1 or 2 terms only
- Attendance is lower in the summer term due to
other school outings, sport and parents taking
the children out of school for extended family
holidays. - There is a fall-out rate but places are quickly
taken by other pupils. SHINE caries 30 mobility
turnover.
- Impact of 50 of pupils from other schools makes
attendance very difficult to follow up in 2
schools where there has been no link teacher.
Transport issues also prevented one school group
from attending regularly from Jan 06.

15Rationale
- This is based only on Year 6 Cohort at Millfields
Community School
- This compares actual SATs results achieved
against target levels predicted by CAT testing
(Cognitive Abilities Tests).
- This provides very clear evidence for the impact
attendance at SHINE makes on individual
performance although it must be noted that some
of the school cohort does contain a few
children who had previously attended SHINE for
two years but then chose not to in Year 6.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to assess
pupils from other schools.
16Level 4 Year 6 SATs results at Millfields only
