Introduction

• Robotic Mining techniques are being developed in
  response to advancing technology, and with the
  aim of reducing costs and improving safety for
  the worker.

• Tamrock is currently considered the industry
  leader for drill rigs in both surface and
  underground mines
• The advanced rigs include software which allow
  them to complete a hole automatically once they
  have been set up on the site.

• There are several levels of automation in drill
  rigs, varying from a rig automatically retracting
  all drill rods, through to a fully automatic
  system operated by remote operator on a MAV
  system.

• SmartParts is a program which can be installed
  onto most drill rigs.
• It fully automates the feed and speed controls,
  with the computer sensing what is required as the
  drill moves through different geological settings.

  control and operation of multiple cameras, which
  enable the operation of the drills by a remote
  user.
