JESUS AND DEATH

• As death drew near, He was transfigured.
• Moses and Elijah came back from the other side to
  visit Him and encourage Him.
  
• Moses died on Mt. Nebo about 1450 earlier.
• Elijah was transformed and entered heaven without
  death, as will those who live until the Lord
  comes again. I Corinthians 1550-55
  
• If death were then end, they wouldnt have been
  there.

JESUS TEACHINGS

• Story of Rich man and Lazarus gives a picture of
  life after death. Luke 1619-31
  
• Rich man buried, lifted his eyes in torment
• Lazarus went to comfort in Abrahams bosom.
• Both went immediately to punishment or reward.
• Both knew everything.
• Both in unchangeable situation.

Witness of Peter

• Chief Shepherd will appear and we will appear
  with Him in glory - I Peter 54
  
• When this earth is destroyed we will have a new
  heaven and new earth - 2 Peter 311-13
  
• Therefore be diligent to be found in Him in
  peace, spotless and blameless. Vs. 14

Conclusion

• To live for this life alone is to fail to deal
  with reality. Eternal is both real and awesome.
