• Task force reports directly to the CIO.

TASK FORCE APPROACH

• Start with Top 10 list from all task force
  members
• Pair down to Favorite 5
• Each member presents a Winning 1
• Task force with then
• Vote on best technologies
• Divide into groups
• Research and Prepare Final Reports

TOP 10 LIST

• Each member of task force to prepare list of 10
  emerging technologies that may have an effect on
  ABC Widget Company over the next 2-5 years
• For each technology
• One paragraph description per technology
• Citation for reference where information found
• use at least 4 different sources for entire list
• Must include at least 3 software technologies
• Use standard format for report
• Include introduction / thematic description if
  applicable
• Avoid previously investigated technologies
• Wireless satellite networking, 802 Protocols
• VOIP, RFID, Digital Paper, or IPv6
