• Last fall my dad shot a deer .
• It was in his secret spot.
• It weighed 190 pounds
• It was an 8 pointer.

• Deer live all over North America.
• But mostly up north.
• Deer live mainly in the woods.
• Most deer have short tails and long legs.

• Deer have a very dangerous life.
• Mostly in the fall because of hunters.
• Like our Dads.

• grass.
• In winter, deer in northern lands live
• On bark, twigs, lichens, and dried up
• Plants.

In The Old Days

• A long time ago Indians in the St. John Valley
  killed deer.
• They did not waste any part of the deer.
• They shared with other families if they had too
  much.

• Deer are native to almost every part of
• the big group called hoofed mammals.
• There are many kinds of deer.
• Deer are native to almost every part of
• the world except Australia, Antarctica,
• and Africa below the Sahara Desert.
