PRE_SUD what is pre_sud?

• 3 year Life funded project to develop and test
  a peer review tool to examine the SD performance
  of 9 target municipalities
• Will lead to an action plan for the municipality
  to improve its SD performance
• OBJECTIVES
• Elaborate on the OECD Peer Review methodology
• Pilot a Peer Review tool in the partner cities
  over 3 years
• Implement SMART action Plans to achieve improved
  Sustainable Development performance
• Demonstrate the utility of the Peer Review tool

PRE_SUD progress so far

• 2½ day Pilot performance assessment of Newcastle
  SD, 26-28 February 2002
• 2 Review managers from IDeA, 4 officers from
  across the EU
• Main purpose to develop / pilot a methodology
• Interviews with Senior Officers, councillors,
  external agencies, and a community event
• confirmed the value of the the approach
• Wake up call to the city council on the
  recommendations likely to be made in full review
