What are head lice?

• Head lice are tiny insects that live on peoples
  heads
• theyre only this big when fully grown!
• Head lice cant fly, jump or swim, but they can
  run very fast
• If your head gets close to the head of someone
  who has head lice, you could catch them
• it doesnt matter if your hair is clean or
  dirty

How can you tell if you have head lice?

• Your head might feel itchy
• You might see black dots on your pillow in the
  morning
• You might see white nits (dead head lice eggs) in
  your hair that look like dandruff

What should you do next?

• If your head is itchy, tell your teacher, or your
  parents when you get home
• Ask your parents to check your head properly
• If you know someone who has head lice, make sure
  your heads dont touch

If you have head lice, dont worry!

• Head lice wont make you sick, but they arent
  very nice to have
• If you have them, your parents can use a
  treatment to kill the head lice
