Mouth/ Esophagus

• The purpose of the mouth is to break down food to
  start digestion.
• There are salivary glands in youre mouth to help
  break down food.
• the esophagus transports food from the mouth to
  the stomach.

Stomach

• In the stomach there is gastric juices that help
  break down proteins.
• The gastric juices contain acids and chemicals
  these help break down the food so it is easier to
  digest.

Small Intestine/Large Intestine

• The small intestine transports food from the
  stomach to the large intestine.
• In side the small intestine are villi which take
  out proteins to feed the cells.

• The large intestine extends from the ileocecal
  junction to the anus and is about 1.5m long.
