2Project Proposal Considering how PDAs are
increasing in popularity and use, the main area
of focus will relate to PDA wireless
authentication and encryption as it is utilized
by financial institutions. PDAs are relied upon
more and more within the financial sector for the
transmittal of data and decisions. One example
of PDA use where encryption is essential is a
financial transaction, possibly a request for a
stock trade, conducted between two business
people using wireless PDAs. Message
authenticity, and the integrity and
confidentiality of the transaction must be
ensured in order for financial institutions to
benefit from, and to continue to use this
technology.
