Task Scenario
  • Daniel, a local Auburn University student, is
craving some Dominos pizza, so decides to try out
the new Auburn Dominos online pizza ordering
system to order some pizza for pickup. He
navigates to the systems URL, and is met with a
login screen. Daniel then enters his Auburn
University ID (SSN) into the text box, and clicks
the login button. He is then met with a welcome
screen that displays the address that he has
registered with Auburn University. Seeing that
the address is current, he does not need to
update it, so he clicks on the link that is
described as See the Menu and Place an Order.
On the screen that follows, Daniel decides that
he wants 1 pizza, a side of buffalo wings, and a
bottle of Coke and a bottle of Sprite. After
choosing these, he clicks on the Continue With
Your Order Button. Next, Daniel chooses Italian
Sausage as his pizzas topping from the dropdown
box, and chooses the size of the pizza to be
large, and chooses a hand tossed crust. On this
screen Daniel also sees that the default quantity
for the number of sides and drinks that he
ordered is one, and is satisfied with that, so he
clicks on the Continue and Pay button, not
needing to change his order, which is an option
available at this point. After clicking
Continue and Pay, Daniel is met by an order
summary that contains the prices of all the
things in his order and an estimated time for his
order to be ready based on whether he chooses to
pick it up himself or have it delivered. He sees
that the wait for his pizza if he were to pick it
up is 30 minutes, so he chooses Pickup as an
order option since it will take less time than
delivery. He also enters his credit card payment
information on this screen. Being satisfied with
his order and having entered in his credit card
information, Daniel bypasses the Change Your
Order option on this screen, and clicks on the
Submit Your Order button. Here He is met with
a Thank you screen that includes a detailed
receipt of this transaction. This receipt
contains all of the details of his order,
including the prices and grand total, as well as
a summary of his credit card payment. This
receipt also shows the time that the order was
submitted so that he can estimate the time to
pickup his pizza based on the websites previous
estimate. He clicks on the Print Receipt
button , which prints the receipt information on
this screen out to his printer, and then he
clicks on the logout button to exit. The
sequence of these actions is displayed in the
    slides that follow.
