  fine for anyone suspected of downloading music
  without paying, people are still doing it. Why?

• Costs less money
• Can do it right from your own home convenient
• Can make a CD with more of your favorite songs on
  it more personal

• How many students still file-share?
• How many do so illegally (without paying)?
• Why do they do it?
• How often?

• Twelve students were asked to fill out a
  questionnaire which asked
• Do you file-share?
• Do you do so illegally?
• How often?
• How many songs are currently downloaded on your
  computer?

• Why do you download music?
• What is gained?
• Do you feel there is any risk involved?
• Do you feel living on campus puts you at a higher
  risk? Why? Why not?

• Results
• 10 of the 12 students downloaded files the other
  2 did not
• All 10 downloader's did so illegally
• There was an average of about 200 songs
  downloaded on their computers
• Very few felt there was any risk involved, and if
  they did, they weren't worried about it

• How might this information be helpful?
• Results may benefit those universities that are
  trying to crack down on illegal file-sharing
• The music industry may find the results useful
  when comparing the reasons why people are still
  downloading music illegally
• Students may even be curious to learn how many
  students are file-sharing still
