Introduction

• Research institute of agriculture was founded in
  1946. The main trends of scientific researches
  selection and seed production of perennial
  grasses (timothy, red fescue, ryegrass, cocksfoot
  grass and others) and legume (red clover, hybrid
  and white clover, alfalfa), the researches in
  plant protection and plant production of oilseed
  rape and different cereals, since 2000
  researches in organic farming

• The maintenance of soil fertility and the
  reducing of environmen-tal pollution in

Organic farming

• In Skriveri is situated the largest certified
  organic farming field for scientific researches
  and seed production. The total area in 2005 is 43
  ha 30 ha are certified but 13 ha 2nd
  transition year in 2005. There is crop rotation
  of 7 fields winter rye, red clover for seeds,
  potato, spring barley, oats, perennial grasses
  for seeds, winter oilseed rape with area of one
  field 4,5 ha.
