5Vocabulary General
- NC WISE North Carolina Window of Information on
Student Education. - eSIS Electronic Student Information System.
- WebApps Web application that manages user
security, test upload, and UERS. - UERS Uniform Education Reporting System.
- Reporting Hub Web application that enables
running customized reports.
6Vocabulary General . . .
- CECAS - Comprehensive Exceptional Children
Accountability System. A secure Web-based student
information system for exceptional children that
supports online case management, compliance
monitoring, data analysis, and federal and state
reporting requirements. - LEA - Local Education Agency, also known as a
local school system or a local school district.
7Vocabulary Security and Architecture
- NDS Novell Directory Services.
- Data Center Multiple LEAs are housed in a data
center. The data center contains all of the
student and school data. - Repository Maintains the unique student ID and
helps to keep system codes uniform across data
centers.
8Vocabulary Student
- LEP Limited English Proficient. Students whose
first language is one other than English who need
language assistance to participate fully in the
regular curriculum and the statewide assessment
system. - SCOS or SCS North Carolina Standard Course of
Study. The NC SCOS is the guiding document
outlining what should be taught in North Carolina
public school classrooms.
9Vocabulary Student . . .
- EOC End-of-Course. Tests designed to assess the
competencies defined by the NC SCOS. Tests are
taken during the last two weeks of school for
students on a traditional calendar and the last
week for students on the block schedule and
summer school students. - EOG End-of-Grade. Tests in reading and
mathematics that are taken by students in grades
3-8 during the last three weeks of the school
year.

funding. - Made up of LEA, NC WISE and State Education Board
members. - Meets monthly.

37The Change Request Process
- Submit a trouble ticket to the state.
- If needed, the trouble ticket is escalated to
CMG. - CMG escalates enhancements to CCB, corrections to
the vendor. - If CCB approves an enhancement, the request is
sent to ESC.
