Living the Profile

• The Graduate Profile represents what we (your
  parents, the community, the district) want for
  each Lovejoy High School graduate.
• The Graduate Profile is not fulfilled unless the
  students want to embody all of the pillars of the
  Graduate Profile.

• As members of the Class of 2010, you represent
  the first high school graduates in a long line
  that will follow you.
• There are challenges to being on the leading

DAP Advanced Measures

• PSAT Commended Scholar
• Earn a 3 or better on an AP Test
• Original Research Project presented before a
  panel of experts
• Students must earn a total of 4 (each AP test can
  count as one measure)

Support Structures

• First semester elective for students to take for
  assistance with the Senior Capstone paper.
• Faculty and community based-resources as both
  mentors and for juried panels for presentations

Jr. Year for Students

• Think about an area of interest or passion
• Think of a question that will drive your research
  and work
• Decide if you want to complete a portfolio of
  your work and experiences or create an actual
  product
• Select a mentor from LISD or the community
• Decide if you want to take the 1st Semester
  Senior Project course to help with the writing of
  your paper.
• Submit your Senior Capstone proposal in May as
  you finalize your senior classes

Senior Year for Students

• Begin working on paper that is due in December
  (within or outside of Senior Capstone class first
  semester)
• Begin collecting artifacts or evidence of your
  work and experiences for your portfolio
• OR
• Begin creating your product
• Prepare for Presentation
• Have fun, learn, be a leader, and be an example
  of the pillars of the Graduate Profile
