  • Explain the ideals of democracy
  • Use a variety of technology
  • Identify and analyze issues
  • Engage in group discussions
  • Consider responsible personal conduct

Guidelines for Student Conduct
  • Come to class prepared to learn (textbook,
    pencils sharpened, pens, binder)
  • Respect all property (school property, personal
    property, and others property)
  • Respect all ideas given in class. Everybodys
    thoughts are important.
  • Do your very best!

Procedures
  • Arrival
  • Each student will take their seat.
  • Bellwork assignment will be posted on the
    overhead Transparency screen.
  • Begin immediately.

Tardiness
  • Being on time means being in your seat when the
    bell rings (not running through the door as it
    rings!) 
  • Door will be shut after the bell rings.
  • If you come after the door is shut, you will wait
    outside until we open the door for you
  • Refer to CHS school policy

Assignments
  • First Line Your name (first and last)
  • Second Line Class name (American Government)
  • Third Line Name of Assignment
  • Fourth Line Date
  • No paper will be accepted torn out of a spiral
    book

Grading Policy
  • Journals (1-3 per week done in class) 3-5
    points/assignment
  • Homework and class assignments, notes (1-4 per
    week) 10 points
  • Quizzes (1 or 2 per unit) 10-50 points
  • Group/individual projects, presentations, and
    papers (approximately 2 per month with one large
    project per card marking) 50-100 points
  • Tests (approximately every 3 weeks) 100 points
  • Civic Participation Activity (included in the
    second card marking) 150 points

Penalty Box
  • Students will receive detention for class
    disruptions of any kind.
