  • In 2007, Americans took 10.7 billion trips on
    public transportation - the highest ridership
    level in 52 years.
  • Households with two workers and one car who use
    public transportation save as much as 8,000
    every year, compared to a household with no
    access to public transportation.
  • According to a new study prepared by ICF
    International, public transportation reduces our
    nations carbon emissions by 37 million metric
    tons annually equivalent to the electricity
    used by 4.9 million households.
