CCSS Christmas 2009
DONATIONS VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to support the
Cass Christmas Store where we anticipate
providing gifts for 250 children this Christmas!
WHO? ? Children who range from newborn to
eighteen years of age ?
Generally homeless men and women utilizing Cass
emergency and residential programs. WHY? ?
Provide parents with choices of essential and
non-essential age-appropriate new gifts for
their children HOW? ? How do we stock the
store? With your help! Below is a list of the
toys and essentials that we hope to offer in the
Christmas Store. Money is always appreciated
and an advantage in that often the agency can
negotiate good deals by purchasing in bulk. To
make a cash donation, please make your check
payable to CCSS and write Cass Christmas Store on
the memo line.
General Guidelines ?Do not wrap presents. With
the wrapping supplies provided, parents will be
able to wrap the gifts for their
children. ?Consider purchasing essentials
Undergarments, socks, sweatshirts / sweat pans,
etc. ?For Christmas, only new items are
distributed ?Please avoid battery-operated or
electronic toys if possible. If you provide
these gifts, please attach batteries. ?Please
consider purchase for older children where
possible.
DONATIONS- Toy Ideas Babies Birth 12 Months
Stuffed animals, teething toys, rattles, first
blocks, crib toys, mobiles, books for babies 12
Months 24 Months Infant swings, play mats,
push toys, storybooks, Pack Plays 2-4 Years
Dolls/dollhouse, dish sets, See n Say, cars,
play tool kits, tricycles / scooters, Play Dough,
books, blocks, DUPLO blocks 5-7 Years Coloring
books / crayons, Transformers, LEGOS, race car
tracks, sleds or snow discs, Barbie or other
dolls, cooking sets 8-11 Years Power Rangers,
DVDs, interactive pets, temporary tattoos, Soccer
Boppers, paint-by-number /craft kits 12-15 Years
CDs, CD players, purses, balls (basketballs,
footballs, etc.) 16-18 Years CDs, jewelry,
stereo, gym bags, pre-paid cell phones Family
Gifts Arts crafts supplies, bikes, basketball
rim, game systems, cameras
Deadline to Drop Off Gifts Friday, Dec.
18. Gift Drop-Off Scott Building 11850
Woodrow Wilson Building open around-the-clock.
If you, your company, church or group has a large
number of things, pick-up can be arranged.
ESSENTIALS NEEDED FOR ALL AGES Under wear and
undershirts, socks, coats, snow pants, hats,
sweaters/sweatshirts, sweat-pants, mittens/glove,
t-shirts

Sunday, Dec. 20 (2pm-6pm) Set up gifts in
store Monday, Dec. 21 (10am-6pm) Store open
Well need store clerks to assist shoppers,
gift wrappers, kitchen elves to prepare food
beverages for shoppers, stock clerks, security
clerks TO VOLUNTEER please e-mail

preferred assignment, assignment time, and
contact information (name and phone numbers
cell if you have one), or call Amy Bouque at

  • Shopping bags with handles
  • Small boxes
  • Wrapping paper, tape, ribbon, scissors, gift tag
    stickers
  • Scissors
  • Our shoppers will be carrying their gifts home
    either by bus or walking.
