are elected by the precinct caucus attendees.
They automatically serve on the CU central
committee (Level 2). In addition to running the
meeting on precinct caucus night, they are
expected to help during elections.

Between central-committee meetings the CU is
governed by an executive committee that usually
consists of a chair (C), an associate chair (AC),
a secretary (S), a treasurer (T), an affirmative
action officer (A) and some directors (D).
Committee members are screened and recommended by
the CU nominations committee that was formed at
precinct caucus (Level 1). The executive
committee is formally elected for a two-year term
by the CU convention delegates (Left). The
executive committee serves on the CU central
committee (Left). The chairs also serve on the CD
central committee (Level 3).
