  • The Treaty of Versailles (which ended WWI) left
    Germany with a huge bill (reparations) that it
    could not pay. Any money Germany had, went to
    making those reparations and NOT into rebuilding
    or into stabilizing their own economy.

  • 2. The Great Depression (1929) affected
    countries worldwide and the U.S. was no longer
    able to loan Germany the money it needed to
    rebuild, make reparation payments, or put into
    their economy.
