Set-up

• 1. Click on icon of yellow sun at top of screen
• 2. Fill out form may need to try more than
  once to pick a unique display name
• 3. Click Continue
• 4. You may need to log in with this account
  information, the first time you use Jing

Capture an image

• Jing site Help Center Capture
•  
• 1. Hover over icon of yellow sun at top of
  screen
• 2. Click on left icon (Capture)
• 3. Click and drag to select part of screen
• 4. Click on bottom left icon of monitor
  (Capture Image)
• 5. Click on bottom left icon of disk (Save)
• 6. Save file on Desktop, if possible

Make a screencast video

• 1. Hover over icon of yellow sun at top of
  screen
• 2. Click on left icon (Capture)
• 3. Click and drag to select part of screen
• 4. Click on filmstrip icon at bottom left of
  window (Capture Video)
• 5. Do something on the screen
• 6. Click bottom left square icon (Stop)
• 7. Click on icon of arrows (Screencast.com)
  since videos are huge files, its best not to
  save them to your own computer
• 8. To see where your video is stored, hover over
  sun, then click the middle icon (History)

Set-up

• Zotero site Support Screencast Tutorials
•  
• 1. Start Firefox web browser
• 2. Go to http//zotero.org
• 3. Click on Register in upper right,
  register you may need to try more than once to
  correctly type in the words at the bottom (hint
  leave a space between the words)
• 4. Click on Zotero in bottom right
• 5. Click on cog icon in upper left (Actions)
• 6. Choose Preferences from drop-down menu
• 7. Click Sync icon at top
• 8. Type in your user name and password
• 9. Click OK

Import from catalog

• 1. Go to your online library catalog (if the
  following steps dont work with your catalog, try
  Worldcat.org)
• 2. Search for a popular topic
• 3. Click on little folder icon in Firefox
  address bar
• 4. Click Select All button
• 5. Click OK button
• 6. To see what you imported, click on Zotero
  in bottom left of Firefox

Create a bibliography

• 1. Click on an item in middle pane of Zotero
• 2. Hold down the Ctrl key on keyboard, and
  push the A key (to select all items)
• 3. Hover over selected items
• 4. Right-click your mouse
• 5. Select Create Bibliography from Selected
  Items
• 6. Choose Save as HTML and click OK
• 7. Save file on Desktop, if possible

  your video
• 4. Zotero extra credit create an online Group
  for sharing citations
