Transformation
  • µetaµ??f??
  • metamorphoo (met-am-or-fo'-o)
  • to transform (literally or figuratively
    metamorphose) - change, transfigure, transform
  • Romans 122 - And be not fashioned according to
this world but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good
and acceptable and perfect will of God.
  • 2Co 318 But we all, with unveiled face
beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are transformed into the same image from glory to
glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.

English Derivation
  • Trans to go across or beyond
  • Form That which we see, taste, smell, hear or
touch. That which is physical that also includes
our outward behavior which is part of our form
  • Therefore, to go beyond what you are as a person
outwardly to that which is inside, or mind
  • Colossians 32 Set your mind on the things that
are above, not on the things that are upon the
    earth.
  • Philippians 25 Have this mind in you, which was
    also in Christ Jesus
  • If we look at what was in his mind, then we have
an idea what to be transformed to
  • However, we still have now approached the how

The Field
  • Luke 85 The sower went forth to sow his seed
and as he sowed, some fell by the way side and
it was trodden under foot, and the birds of the
heaven devoured it. And other fell on the rock
and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because
it had no moisture. And other fell amidst the
thorns and the thorns grew with it, and choked
it. And other fell into the good ground, and
grew, and brought forth fruit a hundredfold. As
he said these things, he cried, He that hath ears
to hear, let him hear. And his disciples asked
him what this parable might be.

5
  • Luke 810 And he said, Unto you it is given
to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God but
to the rest in parables that seeing they may not
see, and hearing they may not understand. Now the
parable is this The seed is the word of God. And
those by the way side are they that have heard
then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word
from their heart, that they may not believe and
be saved. And those on the rock are they who,
when they have heard, receive the word with joy
and these have no root, who for a while believe,
and in time of temptation fall away.

6
  • Luk 814 And that which fell among the thorns,
these are they that have heard, and as they go on
their way they are choked with cares and riches
and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to
perfection. And that in the good ground, these
are such as in an honest and good heart, having
heard the word, hold it fast, and bring forth
    fruit with patience.
  • The seed is the Word of God
  • Who is the field?
  • It is you and me!
  • What kind of field are we?

7
Gardening
  • Before it was a garden, what was it?
  • What did it contain?
  • Stones
  • Briars
  • Logs
  • Branches
  • Weeds
  • What made it ready for a garden?
  • Creating a clearing
  • All of us have the components Jesus described in
his fields. Its who we are.
  • We still have them. What are they?

8
Our Garden is not clear
  • In order to move to a clearing, we need to
understand that our field is not perfect
  • Cleaning up the stones, breaking up the hard
ground, removing the trash takes work
  • When does most of that work occur, before we
    become Christians or after?
  • We cannot produce a clearing without seeing the
    stones
  • If the seed, the Word of God, is sown every time
we study, hear it taught, or meditate on it, then
this parable addresses our walk in life and not
    just a moment in time

9
There he is again!
  • We are still stuck
  • Want to be unstuck, then clear the field
