Title: Fraternity
1Fraternity
2Respect People
- Even if they have failings
- little education
- without ever trying to manipulate them for your
own ends, either personal or institutional
3Respect People
- Sincere
- and deep
- respect for other members of the community is
fundamental behaviour before the process of
growth and maturity of each member
4Accept
- The members of the community as they are
- without trying to have them be as you would like
them to be - they all have the right, like you, to be
themselves, to be different
5Accept
- They have, like you, failings of which it is hard
to get rid - never forget that we have often the temptation to
make members in our own image - or in the image of our personal ideal
6Natural Praise
- For the qualities of the companions of your
community, - and celebrate their success in their presence as
in their absence
7Natural Praise
- Make this praise and celebration, the object of a
joyful prayer before God, Father of all the
members of the group.
8Natural Praise
- To be in competition, envy, desire to surpass
others - or to dominate is contrary to the behaviour of
praising
9Cultivate Education
Remember
- in community relationships with simplicity and
naturally - Ask in a polite way and if you do something
wrong, ask to be forgiven and try to sort out the
situation
10Cultivate Education
- Thank the others for their little or great
attentions to you - or the community
- And try to have the best attention for all of
them
11Welcome, Stimulate, Help, Smile, Defend, Applaud,
Encourage, Gratify The Members of the Group
- This always has a good influence on common living
and work and strengthens the internal links of
the community
12Welcome, Stimulate, Help, Smile, Defend, Applaud,
Encourage, Gratify The Members of the Group
- Do not forget that fraternal correction should
never come out as a relief of your anger or
personal embarrassment - It is an expression of love and must be done in
an atmosphere of confidence and affection
13Welcome, Stimulate, Help, Smile, Defend, Applaud,
Encourage, Gratify The Members of the Group
- One cannot do good to a person whom one does not
love
14Be Transparent, True, Authentic, Important.
- Do not be double, false, a liar, do not hide
yourself behind masks, be double faced - Truly human common living especially in a
religious community is only built by and on truth
and from sincerity
15Live the Joys and Sorrows
- of the members of the group as your own
- Make yours their problems and concerns
- Rejoice at the success of the community and its
members, as if they were yours - All must be very sensitive to this constructive
behaviour of solidarity
16Love and Serve
- thoroughly without forgetting bills or receiving
commissions - without requiring responses
- being far from commercial attitudes
17Love and Serve
- If something cannot be a commercial item in the
community it is friendship, service, love the new
commandment
18Love Loyally
- Loyal love is the love that is offered freely to
the other, having the certainty that it is not
mutual - Never place yourself at the centre of the
community - It is not the place from which to serve
19Accept and Love
- the members of the community for themselves, not
for the benefit they can bring to you. - Take a constant and sincere interest in the
members of the community, even if they do not
take any interest in you, or in your work
20Accept and Love
- Make common living a benefit and the life of the
group vivifying. - This is the behaviour which builds community
21Forgive and Forget
- Make every effort to understand, forgive and
forget frictions, misunderstandings and conflicts
which have occurred in the group. - They are inevitable
22Forgive and Forget
- But the worse action is to keep the resentments
inside oneself, to ponder them, to increase their
importance going through the event again. - Indeed, this behaviour is harmful to the
community.
23Forgive and Forget
- Misunderstanding and narrow mindedness dry the
sources of dynamism and joy - Forgiveness heals and restores
24Dont Dramatise
- and dont magnify the little daily frictions.
- Without a sense of humour, which prevents us
taking our weaknesses too seriously, we would be
unable to create healthy communities which
contribute to the fraternity of our Society
25Welcome the Other
- putting yourself in her place, even if it is
difficult, and accept, listen, understand,
encourage and serve her in the measure in which
she wants to be served by you.
26Live United
- to the members of the community interiorly, from
the heart, not in a superficial way because of a
place, a work, common rules, or simple common
living
27Cultivate Good Humour, Joy, Optimism With Great
Interest
- and cooperate in this way in the well-being of
the community. - It is necessary to share joy, community
relaxation, a sense of the feast of life, to make
common living easier, more simple
28Never Criticise
- the behaviour of the members of the community and
even less behind their backs - Do not reveal their failings, but do not
encourage them either - Everybody has failings
29Never Criticise
- In this field try to understand, to encourage and
to help with love - It is necessary to love the members of the
community as they are including their failings
without supposing that we come to terms with evil
30Be Determined to Discover
- little by little, meeting after meeting - at
great length and depth the positive there is in
your companions - Take into account that when one loves people
enough on easily finds the good and positive
things in them
31Be Determined to Discover
- If you see many failings in a member of your
community, ask yourself how much you love her
32Express Your Faith
- naturally and with simplicity
- Pray and help the community to pray
- A community that does not pray, becomes common
place and loses its identity
33Express Your Faith
- Collaborate in preparation of the Liturgy of the
Hours. Celebration of the Word, Eucharist, and do
it in depth
34Express Your Faith
- These actions contribute in an outstanding way to
identify the Christian community as it is, they
gather build and vivify it
DHMs
35Work For Your Community
- not to be cut off from the world, a small
narcissistic group without cohesion with other
communities or Christian groups
36Work for Your Community
- Cultivate Openness, universality do your best so
that the community tries hard to live in a truly
ecclesial way and in communion
37Work Hard for Others
- Thus fulfil the law of Christ.
- Be patient, nice. Do not envy others. Do not
boast or brag. Do not be rude, do not look for
trouble. Do not get excited, or take bad things
into account.
38Work Hard for Others
- Always apologise
- Love is never lacking
- Galatians 62
- 1 Corinthians 134-8
