- Mathematics Grade 6
- Objective Students will learn to manipulate
numbers from the ones place to the millionths
place by using manipulative. - Materials

- - Number Cards
- Procedure
- Students will set game boards out on their desks
and place cards in organized piles starting with
zero and ending with nine. The teacher will then
use the overhead projector to direct the children
to what number they will be setting up on their
game board. The teacher will first state a
number. Then he/she will write the number on the
overhead and cover it up. Once the students are
finished placing their cards on their game board,
the teacher will revel the number and go over
exactly how the number is written. - Closure

- I use many positive techniques to help your child
behave appropriately in the classroom. - Praising the child who is doing the right thing.
- Classroom Buddies-Pairing children up who will
benefit from each others company and encouraging
the children to become friendly with everyone in
the classroom. - Sticker Charts, Goal Charts and Prizes as
incentives (any seasonal, holiday or general
sticker donations are appreciated as well as
small prizes for the jar). - Changing and adding new learning materials and
toys in the classroom in order to keep the
students' interests high and keep them motivated
to learn more. - Classroom Schedule- Mix classroom schedule with
seat work and active learning time to create a
balance and keep the children motivated. - Songs and poems to gain their attention.

Although good attendance is encouraged and
crucial to your childs success in school, please
keep your child at home if they are ill. You may
receive a phone call from the school nurse to
pick your child up if they are not well at
