ENGINEERING CURRIULUM
- Basically DTU has two parallel educational
programmes - A five years programme giving a M.Sc. degree
- A three-and-a-half year programme giving a B.
Eng. degree. - The M.Sc. programme is intended to attract
theoretically strong students. - The B.Eng. programme is directed towards more
practically oriented students. - The staff responsible for the M.Sc. curriculum is
research based. - The staff responsible for the B.Eng. curriculum
is currently teaching-only staff.
15CURRENT ISSUES RESTRUCTURING THE MECHANIC
ENGINEERING CURRIULUM
- Both programmes are up for a revision. Due to
changes, so that all staff in the future will be
research based, the programme for the B.Eng. is
now reengineered and the new curriculum was
launched in September 2003. - The M.Sc. curriculum is planned to be renewed and
launched by September 2004. - The new M.Sc. curriculum must consist of a three
years B.Sc. programme plus a two years M.Sc.
programme.
