GridPP2 ProjectMap
253 Milestones, 112 Monitoring Metrics at
present. Work to be done LCG area to be
defined. Production Grid details refined. Some
metrics are not yet finalised. Specific risks
and dependencies to be included.

Risk Register
Currently using GridPP1 Register. 13 Changes
made 2 Risks added 5 risks reduced
5 risks increased 1 adjusted 2 previously
High risks were reduced. R10_GridPP
(S.linux) R14_LCG (Stability) 1 risk
elevated to High. R32_INF (Security)

Tier-1 Hardware
  • The issues here are
  • The fair allocation of Tier-1 hardware
  • International MOUs and other less formal
    commitments
  • The Disk-CPU balance and the real cost of Tape
  • The absolute scale.

15
Tier-1 Hardware
? Table of MO Authors. ? Future information
sketchy. ?To preserve unitarity ought to ?
be an FTE count ? to come from groups not
experiments.
16
Tier-1 Hardware
Table of Splits CPU/Disk/Tape ratio. Future
information is sketchy.
17
Tier-1 Hardware
  • Table of Strategic Weights.
  • Movement of MO authors.
  • Future stategic importance.
  • Other factors?
  • Clearly controversial
  • requesting input.

18
Tier-1 Hardware
Output guidelines for the User Board
within which to perform actual allocation. Output
guidelines within which international MOUs can
be discussed. Note current lack of information on
absolute scale.
19
Tier-1 Hardware
We would like the CBs input to this Hardware
allocation process. A breakdown from each
institute of estimated MO FTE/experiment for
2005 to 2008 would significantly reduce the
current influence of the strategic
weights. Ideally, we would like the blessing of
the CB for this approach and then, with some
added assessment of the actual scale of the
hardware, present to PPARC for consideration in
the context of both the international MOUs
(BaBar, LHC, etc) and for post-GridPP planning.
