• Then go on to outline
• Why (it is happening)

• Should be on headed paper or specially designed
  template and should have
• Broad margins
• Double spacing
• Indented paragraphs
• First pages to end in m.f (more follows) if more
  than one page in length
• Continuing pages start with title and page number
• Close news release with ENDS and contact details
  of spokespeople etc

• Inform the press of any photo opportunities
• Provide a backgrounder
• A backgrounder is provided as a separate document
  which is laid out in the same way as a news
  release. Entitled Backgrounder it provides the
  journalists with any additional background
  information about your event
• Provide quotes if appropriate
• As above, a separate sheet headed Quotes can be
  provided in a news pack
