Conclusion on installation progress
ITS transport and installation without
problems. Beampipe installation and bakeout
without any problems. Big effort from VAC group.
Optimized planning foresaw 19 working days.
Entire job was performed in 12 working days.
! Big thank you to VAC group for being
efficient, flexible and accepting our continuous
delays ! V0 detector installed and tested. FMD
detector installation starts tomorrow 13.4. ?
Currently we are one week ahead of the February
TB planning.

  • Decoupling TOF/TRD installation from Miniframe we
    can reduce the delay to one month

New Procedure for TOF/TRD Installation
  • TOF/TRD Installation window is locked in the
    detector installation sequence because DF must be
    removed and Miniframe must not yet be there.
  • No Flexibility
  • Miniframe must be removed whenever we want to
    install TOF/TRD (V0/T0/PMD/ALL ITS cables )
  • Can we install TOF/TRD with the Miniframe in
    place ?
  • Idea Use shielding wall elements together with
    simple bars to construct an installation platform
    with the miniframe in place. This installation
    platform should have the same size as the yellow
    platform surface.
  • For the lower 5 sectors one has to remove the
    compensator platform and hold the miniframe by
    bars attached to the A-side machine shieding.

Conclusion on TOF/TRD Installation
  • TOF/TRD Installation with miniframe in place
    seems possible. An installation platform with an
    area equal to the yellow platform can be
    provided.
  • Great advantage we can keep ITS cabled while
    installtion TOF/TRD.
  • Compensator platform must be removed for the
    lower 5 modules. Miniframe is fixed to the
    shielding wall during this procedure.
