Fast Router Discovery

• DNA Goal Get RA fast
• Can send RA immediately on Link UP
• Where L2 Access Points are able to identify that
  users need RA information
• Resend recently cached RA at L2
• Requires Link-UP on AP only, not on hosts
• Doesnt modify packet formats

RA Caching Features

• Fastest possible RA reception
• No random delay before response
• Preserves Router Advertisement
• Doesnt break SEND
• Only caches Unsolicited RAs
• Optionally MAC unicast to host
• Avoids problems with un-acked multicast

Potential issues/Extensions

• Router/Option lifetimes embedded in RAs
• Perhaps require caching only fresh information
• Explicit indication of cacheability
• Preferentially cache Good RAs
• Triggered RS may contend with cached RA
• Potentially MAC/load dependent.
• Existing MAC Queues on AccessPoints
