4Early childhood
- I was eight when we left Malaysia for Singapore.
- My parents thought it would be better for our
education. - I would visit Malaysia during the school
holidays, spending time with my cousins playing
childish games.
5College years
- I went to a small liberal arts college in
Frederick, Maryland in the US. - While at Hood College, I made many good friends.
- I was an art history major with a passion for
Gothic cathedrals.
6The old cathedrals are good, but the great blue
dome that hangs over everything is better.
-Thomas Carlyle
7In addition to old cathedrals, I like almost
anything that is old .. I mean really old
8Including paintings by old masters like this one
by Filippo Lippi.
9The other simple pleasures in my life ..
- Going for walks, road trips
- Spending time with family and friends
- Watching a movie
- Sleeping !
10Early Adult hood also means financial
responsibility
- Working experience included ...
- Counsellor
- Social worker
- Arts administrator
11But what I would really like to be
12But LIFE
- is unpredictable and full of surprises. In just
over a month ago, I find myself packing my bags
and heading to beautiful British Columbia.
13So for the next year and a half, Ill be at the
School of Library, Archival and Information
Studies at UBC.
