Our focus was learning to count and recognising
written numerals

Roamer

• We used the Roamer dressed up as a spider and he
  had to frighten Little Miss Muffett.

• First of all we had to put the number line in
  order by using our counting song.

• Next we had to think whether the spider was along
  way away from Little Miss Muffett or close to her
  and would this make any difference to the numbers
  we chose.

• Abi decided that Little Miss Muffett was 10
  spaces away from the spider.

• She programmed the Roamer to make the spider move.

• Oh no! 10 was too far. Abi was able to me that
  she would need a smaller number.

• Suzzette thought 6 would be the right number and
  so she found number 6 from the number line.

• Yes 6 was just right.

• Zak said that 3 is a small number and showed me
  where he thought the spider would end up.

Counting drumbeats

• We are learning to count up to 10.
• We are learning to recognise written numerals.

• We sang the drum beat song and counted how many
  beats there were.
• We had to stand on the correct written number.

• We each had a go and beating the drum for
  everyone to count.

Writing numbers.

• We rolled the large dice and counted the spots.

• We found the written numeral on the snakes and
  ladders board.

• Next we tried to write the number in the air.

• Finally we tried to write the number by squeezing
  water out of a bottle.
