succeed in the movie industry. Om's mother
inspires and encourages her son to become a
success. He dreams of becoming a 'hero' one day
on the big screen. He is in love with the
country's heart throb and movie actress, Shanti,
who is very successful and famous. Om goes to the
premiere of her upcoming movie Dreamy Girl and
sneaks in, claiming he is a famous actor. - On another occasion, during a shooting of a
movie, where Om is acting as a junior artist, he
notices Shanti is caught in the middle of a fire
scene which gets out of control. Om jumps in and
saves her, as no one else does. - We are now going to view two scenes. The premier

9News story theatre
- Working groups of no more than five, you are
going to create a news report on events from the
film set fire. - Essentially there are going to be two different
settings for this piece - one in the studio and
the other one will be the film set, with the
roving reporter. - In order to do this successfully, the performance
space will be divided in two, creating a split
stage. Although the performers in the two
different halves will be stood next to one
another, they need to assume that they can not
see each other.
10- A is sat at the news desk, introducing the
programme and providing some sense of formality
to the proceedings. - B is the roving reporter, live at the film set,
who interviews eyewitness (C) who will give a
personal account of events. C could be an actor,
cameraman or the director. At the end of the
interview, B should hand back to the studio. - D, a spokesperson for Shanti, will be interviewed
by A, giving their opinion on recent events and
giving an update on her health and whether or not
she will continue to shoot the film. - At the end of that interview, hand back to B (on
location) who will interview a second eyewitness,
E, summarising the situation before handing back
to the studio where A will give a reminder of key
events.
