Athenas Myth
  • Athena came down to Perseus from Mount
Olympus fully armed, with her helmet, shield, and
sword. She came down to him to lead him on a
very, special and important mission. Athena told
Perseus the directions to get to the three headed
Gorgon (monster) called Medusa. She held out her
hand and in it was her shield that Perseus would
use to conquer to monster. He would put the
shield up in the air and when the Gorgon saw its
reflection it would turn itself to stone. This
could only be accomplished because when someone
looked at the Gorgon they would turn to stone
because this monster had the ability to do that.
So thanks to Athenas shield and Hermes sword
Perseus was able to overcome the evil Medusa.

Family Relations
  • This powerful goddess Athena had a lot of famous
gods that were related to her. The most
important was Zeus, her father. At birth she
sprang from his head fully armed. She also was
related to Poseidon, king of the water, because
he was her uncle. Athena had a marriage with
    Hephaestus, god of fire.
