  beyond the benefit of shelter
• We believe that every man, woman and child has
  the right to the confidence, security and hope
  that a home provides

• 1.7 Million Canadian families live without
  adequate or affordable housing
• 1 in 6 Canadian children live in poverty
• Around the globe, over 1 billion people are
  living in the streets or in poverty housing
• Just under 5 million Canadians have incomes below
  the Low-Income cutoff

Habitat International

• Founded in 1976
• In over 100 countries worldwide
• Built over 200,000 homes housing over 1 million
  of the worlds people
• A new home built every 24 minutes

HFH-HRM- Local Affiliate

• In 2000, the Province of Nova Scotia presented
  Habitat for Humanity Halifax-Dartmouth with the
  Nova Scotia Home Award

• Built 25 homes in the HRM housing over 110 men,
  women and children
• Built 1st home on NS South Shore in 2008
• Building 4 homes in Spryfield and one in Millwood
  in July- September 2008 and plan to increase our
  build capacity in years to come

3WE SELL THE HOME WITH NO INTEREST, NO PROFIT
AND NO DOWN PAYMENT THROUGH A MORTGAGE HELD BY
HABITAT
