  • Emergency Services

3
Cadet Protection Program Training
4
CPPT
  • CAP is committed to doing everything
reasonably possible to combat the potential for
child abuse within our organization and to
discourage our cadets from illegal use of alcohol
and other drugs. CAP members are expected to
avoid even the appearance of impropriety
involving cadets and report suspected abuse
    immediately.

5
CPPT
  • Senior members, cadets, and persons who supervise
cadet activities or serve in leadership positions
must possess high moral and ethical standards, be
    emotionally stable, and demonstrate leadership
qualities necessary to serve as positive role
    models.

6
CPPT
  • All cadets, within 6 months following their
eighteenth birthday, must undergo the same Cadet
Protection Program Training (CPPT) that senior
members must complete. If a cadet promotion is
due during that 6-month period, then this CPPT
must be completed prior to the promotion.

7
CPPT
  • Provide parents with a calendar of activities and
notify the parents when a scheduled activity is
    cancelled, relocated, or changed.
  • Give the parents an opportunity to personally
meet the senior members by periodically
    designating meetings as parents night.

8
e-services
9
e-services
  • The Cadet Promotions Application is an online
system that helps local leaders manage cadet
    progression, via CAP eServices  .
  • FEATURES. Some of the features of this program
include Makes the CAPF 66 Cadet Master Record
and the CAPF 52 Phase Certification obsolete for
    participating units.

10
e-services
  • Allows local leaders to track cadets test
    scores, character forums, CPFT completion,
promotion dates, and more electronically. If a
cadet transfers squadrons, their records go with
them automatically no more coordination issues
for the two commanders. Automatic error
trapping ensures cadets meet all requirements
    before being promoted.

11
e-services
  • Milestone awards are validated instantly,
allowing commanders to pin-on cadets new grade
insignia without waiting for NHQ action.
Tracks leadership counseling (CAPF 50s) when a
cadet is denied promotion. Cadets are
automatically alerted via email when their
    promotion is approved or denied.

12
e-services
  • Gives cadets visibility into their own record
at any time, thereby helping ensure the record is
accurate. Helps local leaders stay on top of
cadet progression by generating reports listing
who is promoting quickly and who is lagging
    behind. Gives high-level leaders (wing,
national) visibility into how cadets are
progressing in their echelon or in a particular
    squadron.

13
Encampment
14
Encampment
  • CAPR 52-16, page 19, section g, item 4 states in
    part
  • Encampment. Cadets must complete an encampment to
earn the Mitchell Award. This requirement will
    not be waived.

15
Encampment
  • a. Goals of Encampments. Encampments are designed
to provide CAP members the opportunity to
  • (1) Apply knowledge gained in the cadet and
    senior programs to practical situations.
  • (2) Develop a greater understanding of CAP and
    Air Force missions and capabilities.
  • (3) Develop their leadership potential.
  • (4) Enhance their interpersonal skills.
  • (5) Develop time-management skills.

16
Encampment
  • (6) Develop a spirit of teamwork.
  • (7) Inspire a sense of discipline.
  • (8) Learn how to overcome challenges and succeed.
  • (9) Enhance their local units Cadet Program.
  • (10) Aid in retention and motivation.
  • (11) Receive an introduction to the military.

17
Encampment
  • An encampment can be the most significant and
worthwhile training experience of a CAP cadets
membership. Training is what the encampment is
    all about.
  • Regardless whether or not a cadet is considering
entering the armed services after graduation, the
    experience applies.

18
Encampment Dates
  • PAWG Encampment 19 through 26 June at Fort
    Indiantown Gap
  • NER Encampment 20 through 28 July at Otis AFB,
    Cape Cod MA
  • WVWG Encampment (date unknown) at Camp Dawson WV

19
Encampment
  • Take home points
  • Encampment is not an option
  • Encampment is demanding, physically mentally
and it is not impossible for a cadet to complete.
  • Encampment is an excellent team building activity
    for cadets and seniors.
  • Encampment is worth every dollar the parents of
cadets and the leadership of the organization
    invests in it!

20
Cadet Special Activities
21
Time is critical
22
National Activities

  • Pick an activity, make sure the cadet qualifies
    for the activity.
  • Complete the on-line application
  • Print the CAPF 31 and mail to PAWG HQ
  • Print another copy to hand carry to the
interviews at PAWG HQ on 16 JAN 2010

23
National Activities
  • Points to remember
  • Slotting preference usually goes like this
  • Spaatz Cadets
  • Eaker Cadets
  • Earhart Cadets
  • Mitchell Cadets
  • Cadet NCOs
  • this is another example on why encampment is so
    important

24
Cadets in Emergency Services
25
Emergency Services
  • We have 146 cadets in Group One
  • Of those, only 10 are qualified as a Ground Team
    Member level 3
  • Thats only 7 of our cadet membership!

26
Emergency Services
  • Cadets can train and participate in almost all
    emergency services missions as
  • Ground Team Members
  • Mission Radio Operators
  • Mission Staff Assistants
  • Flight Line Marshals

27
Emergency Services
  • There is not one good reason not to have our
cadets support one of the top three missions we
    do.
  • more will be covered in the emergency services
    presentation.
