SAT (Senior Adult Transportation) Program We
have been so blessed with our new van for the SAT
program. When we started to think about what to
do with the other car, we decided to bless
someone else. The car was donated to
Macedonian Call to be used by IMB missionaries
home on leave. As you can see, they were
thrilled!!!
It is almost Vacation Bible School time
again. Remember to send us a copy of your report.
A BIG THANK YOU TO HILLCREST BAPTIST CHURCH FOR
HOSTING OUR VBS CLINIC!!! Thanks to everyone who
helped with the training! We couldnt have done
it without you!! We had a total of 10 churches
who ordered VBS literature through the
Associational Office! Thanks for everything!
- A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS
- There are three upcoming events that I am very
excited about. - The first is our 2008 Annual Meeting. It is on
September 28 at Fellowship Baptist Church.
Evangelist Jamey Ragle will be bringing the
message. I hope that you will consider moving
your Sunday evening service to Fellowship that
night. - The second event is our fall leadership
conference with Dr. Henry Blackaby. Pleasant
Valley South will host this conference on October
17 18. - On April 27 28, 2009, we are planning our first
Evangelism Conference. The preachers for the
conference are Bill Stafford, Fred Luter, and
Jr. Hill. Mike Speck will lead the worship and
provide the special music. The conference will be
held at Calvary Baptist Church. - These events will provide great opportunities for
us to learn and worship together as an
association. I hope that you will support them
with your presence and your prayers. - Jim

a note from the CCM Director!
Just another day at the Baptist Center..thoughts
from Brenda Gail Baldwin She came into the
Baptist Center very quietly, gave her name and
sat down in the hall. Her head hung very low as
she tried not to look at those around her. She
fumbled with her papers, looked at her watch a
hundred times and patiently waited. Something
about this woman touched one of the volunteers.
Maybe it was because she was trying so hard not
to be seen or heard. Whatever it was, the
volunteer rose to the occasion. She sat down
beside this woman and simply said Hello. The
woman slowly looked up and saw the smile on the
face of this stranger. Hello came the meek
reply. The volunteer introduced herself and
inquired about the ladys day. That was all it
took. She began talking. As I sat in my office,
I listened to a story of sadness, disappointment
and despair. I could tell she was crying by the
way she was talking. I didnt hear a word from
the volunteer. I got up from my desk just to see
and the volunteer was holding this ladys hand.
She was listening with all her heart. She was
busy giving. She was giving this broken lady her
undivided attention. She was ministering. The
time came for the lady to go into the interview
room. The volunteer stood with her, still
holding her hand, and told her she would meet her
in the Bible study room to help with her food
list. A smile slowly rose on the ladys face.
Thank you was all she said. But in those two
words, she let the volunteer know how much the
talk had meant to her. Thats what the
volunteers do at the Baptist Center. They
minister in the name of Jesus. Give, and it
will be given to you good measure, pressed down,
shaken together, and running over will be put
into your bosom. For with the same measure that
you use, it will be measured back to you. Luke
